Members of the Ohio Congressional delegation took time during the August recess to meet with co-op and Cardinal Power Plant leadership.
Last month, U.S. Rep. Michael Rulli (R-Salem) visited the Cardinal Generating Station in Brilliant, Ohio, to meet with the power plant operators and OEC staff. Rep. Rulli reiterated his support of Cardinal Power Plant operations as a producer of dependable power generation in Ohio and supports continued investments in energy through outthe region.
Rep. David Taylor (R-Amelia) spent a morning touring Adams Rural Electric Cooperative and learning about its history. Rep. Taylor talked with Adams and OEC staff about Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and permitting reform needed to make federal agencies more responsive and better serve electric cooperatives.
At the Central Ohio Lineworkers Training (COLT) facility in Mt. Gilead, Rep. Mike Carey (R-Columbus) took a hands-on approach to learning about the trade of electric line work. After a live line safety demonstration by COLT instructors, Rep. Carey and other attendees tried their hand at climbing utility poles in the indoor training facility. After the COLT visit, Rep. Carey met at Consolidated Cooperative with co-op CEOs and OEC staff to discuss legislative and regulatory priorities in Washington D.C.
